Collection: Urszula Rossiter

I am a citizen of two countries I love, Poland where I was born and raised and USA where I live; two totally different chapters of my life when I had to adjust to opposing political realities. 

Starting in Poland, I acquired a degree from the School of Fine Arts. After graduating I worked as a graphic artist and decorator. 

Everything changed in 1994 when I came to USA. 

I was living in Chicago for a decade raising my son and working as a freelance artist. 

Later my life changed again when I moved to Miami in 2003. This change had a big impact on my life. Being raised in discipline and order I had to adjust to freedom and the easy spirit of South Florida. It was a pleasant process. I was able to combine the differences. 

Silk painting is one of my passions. I am painting freehand and using old Japanese technique called Shibori. In my silk scarves same as in my paintings you can find beauty of the tropics.

Surrounded by my garden at home and the vast nature of Florida, have inspired me to paint all this splendor, and express my joy of life here.
