The Grape Ape print was a piece created by local Miami students and Ape Ambassadors Sophie Brandimarte, Scout Dingman, Grace Gorman, James Gorman, and Sidney Scholl (age 10, 2016). The first grade students made the painting in 2016 while they were having a lemonade stand to raise funds for the Center for Great Apes. After completing the painting (on recycled cardboard using recycled paints from Home Depot), they entered the painting into Art4Apes, the annual art contest, that supports the Center for Great Apes and has had exhibitions at Pinecrest Gardens. The art piece was professionally scanned and now anyone can support Pinecrest Gardens and the center for Great Apes by ordering a high-quality print.
A portion of the sale goes as a donation to Center of Great Apes.
